Lets count the people Hamza Ali Abbasi got killed....

I know this post is a bit delayed but it was hard to publish it. I have been warned by many that I know to not put this up because I could then by termed as a infidel too. We live in a judgmental country where blasphemy is probably one of the easiest thing one could be blamed for. Yeah so here goes,

Once an inciting program by self-proclaimed religious scholar Dr. Aamir Liaquat got 3 Ahmedis killed. No notice was sent to the program and Dr. Liaquat is still successfully running his TV show which is more of an entertainment then a religious program. I was unhappy to see that even the maulana hazraat on his show didn’t said a word against his infuriating speech.

After years of wait we finally saw a program which actually embodies the spirit of Ramadan. I remember tweeting about being excited that Hamza Ali Abbasi is going to host a show and most reactions I got were not very positive. Sad state is that we as a nation have actually made a portrait of a man with a beard having studied in madrassa to deem fit for a religious cleric. Hamza on the other hand came as somebody who we can relate too. The topics discussed on his show starting from the Women’s Protection Bill till rights of minorities were something that we have all discussed in our homes, with friends and particularly on social media. My point here is that how many people got killed by Hamza’s TV show? How many houses were burnt of religious minorities and how many of them got harassed?

Actually I was so glad to see that many of the Ahmediya community has come to social media and declared their faith. They have shown their angst and concern with their words that what it’s like to hide your faith and live under this shadow of fear in Islamic republic of Pakistan. Islam, which provided a safe haven for everyone in the Prophet’s time. It’s a well-known fact that after conquering Mecca he didn’t killed a single infidel. After defeating the cruel pagan Gods and breaking the idols inside Kaaba prophet said,

"I do the same thing as my brother Joseph did. There is no sin upon you today. May Allah (SWT) forgive you; He is the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful."

The people he was addressing to were the ones who have tormented him for years and have brutally killed people of his family as well. We are the Ummah of such a benevolent Prophet and yet we are afraid of dialogue? What Hamza Ali Abbasi was focusing on is to promote the environment of inter-faith dialogue to promote harmony. And for that he got a death threat on air from Maulana Kokab Noorani. The host of that show is one of various look-a-like and sound-a-like eggs laid by Aamir Liaquat.

We all have the right to disagree but we don't have a right to disgrace anyone. I literally read and saw people, most of them who term themselves religious and well-behaved used such heinous words for the host that I literally was amazed. Disagreement in this country is to defame. If you don't like anyone...fine...just start talking crap about his/her personality, character assassinate them and bring up every little possible wrong they ever did. Just don't consider presenting a valid argument or discussion because that's for the sane. Hazrat Ali (R.A) said,

"When you hear someone speak, don't look at who is saying it. Instead look at what is being said"

A argument that arise was that according to the constitution of Pakistan, Ahmedis are considered Non-Muslim. Alright then. My question is that can't the constitution of Pakistan be amended? Is it Book of God? It’s a human made constitution which can have its flaws. A law can be added or removed anytime.

In Kashmir on 23 May 1944, Quaid-e-Azam was asked his opinion on Ahmediya community not being allowed to join the Muslim Conference because they are considered as non-Muslims. Mr. Jinnah replied,

“'Who am I to declare a person as non-Muslim who calls himself a Muslim?"

~From the book Tahrik Huriyyat Kashmir (History of Independence Movements in Kashmir), volume 2, 1936 - 1945, page 291

This nation is built by people of faith regardless of what God they believed in. It wasn’t just about Ahmediya community. The host wanted to discuss the rights of minorities as a whole that even if Ahmedis are considered Non-Muslims, don’t they have any rights?

Currently I have read that the channel has apologized to PEMRA for having the guts to discuss something that Islam endorse….Peace. On a side note, the program itself refrained from following the trend of "distributing" gifts and making people act like maniacs on live television. Guess that doesn't work right?

Can't we just sit and sort our differences out rather then slitting each other throats and terming another fiqh or faith as kafir?

It's high time to be honest. If not now....then when I can't say.....
